BAIS constructed its newest Santa Clara co-location facility in 2009. This datacenter facility was designed to take advantage of a unique air-side economizer in conjunction with the implementation of state-of-the-art electrical, mechanical and cooling equipment, which allows us to save energy while being able to provide high density power to our co-location customers.
This innovative and energy saving design and implementation earned us the prestigious Silicon Valley Power (SVP) Energy Innovator Award for Energy Efficiency Partner 2009.
The awards were given by the Santa Clara Mayor, Patricia M. Mahan, at the Silicon Valley Energy Summit, held at Stanford University on June 25, 2010.

The Energy Efficiency Partner award is given to organizations for attention to energy efficiency and participating in SVP rebate programs. In the large business category (over 200 kilowatts of demand), Bay Area Internet Solutions (BAIS, Inc.) won with a new state-of-the-art data center that enabled them to receive $750,000 in rebates from SVP in 2009. The data center utilizes a unique economizer design and control system, as well as energy-efficient building components and equipment with comprehensive energy monitoring. Over 4.5 million kilowatt hours per year will be saved as a result of this new environmentally-friendly building, the equivalent of powering over 6,000 homes annually.
