BAIS provides a "true" point-to-point T1 line
from your location to our network access point--not an imitation.
Many providers sell IP-based access solutions or T1 look-alike offerings
that are actually connecting you to an over-sold shared IP or ATM/Frame
Relay backbone, these are not "true" T1 line solutions.
At BAIS, we provide
the the real deal: a direct point-to-point T1 line from your location directly
to our closest access point. The lowest latency, highest
availability, and highest performance T1 line possible!
Ideal for customers who require a
permanent, highly reliable, and highly scalable Internet access
facility. A private line provides a permanent "always
up" connection from your network premises directly to one
of our Internet point-of-presence (POP) facilities. This type of
connection provides extremely high levels of reliability,
availability, and performance and is well suited for
high-bandwidth applications such as: corporate LAN or WAN
connectivity, multimedia web hosting, FTP, CAD/CAM, and other
bandwidth hungry applications.
Unlike DSL, Frame Relay,
or other imitations, our DS1/T1
data service is a direct connection to our network. This means
lower latency and superior levels of reliability and
availability. DS1/T1 services are also supported by the local
Telco and/or carrier with a much higher degree of urgency than a
DSL or similar consumer-oriented services such as cable modem.
For example, if a problem is encountered with your leased line,
the local telephone company or carrier is mandated by the PUC to
respond to an outage within 4 hours. DSL and similar services
are support on a best effort basis and can often experience
extended periods of outage as a result.
Performance
We understand that the absolute performance of your connection
is directly affected by the quality and
speed of our network. Instead of utilizing the congested and
faulty public peering points as many providers do, we maintain
multiple direct fiber connections access points to "Tier
1" backbone providers. This is a very important
differentiation, which significantly reduces the
number of hops (routers) your network traffic must traverse
before it reaches a national or international Internet backbone.
This fundamental network strategy ensures that your connection
will always experience the clearest path possible to the
Internet.
Connectivity
Our dedicated access solutions provide very high-speed
and high-bandwidth connectivity to the global Internet network.
We maintain rigorously engineered, high-availability Network
Access Points (NAP) throughout the Bay Area. Our primary facility
currently houses multiple OC48 (2.45 Gbps) fiber links to
multiple carriers. These OC48 links provide exceptional
scalability, reliability, and redundancy. This core connectivity
infrastructure enables us to maintain and quickly scale multiple
high-speed and redundant fiber links to major Tier 1 Internet
backbones, enabling us to deliver the finest Internet bandwidth
quality available.
