Dedicated Internet Access
On the Internet, time is money, speed rules, and availability is everything. As the Internet becomes increasingly crucial to your organization, it is equally crucial to maintain an Internet connection you can count on and a level of service and support that will enable mission critical communication with your customers, suppliers and business partners.

BAIS not only delivers on this level of service and support--we live it. We understand the importance of the Internet to your business and we demonstrate our understanding by delivering the highest level of service and support available--by any provider in the industry.

BAIS high speed options provide the ideal Internet access connection from large-scale corporate access needs to hosting e-commerce servers or deploying Intranets, Extranets, and VPN solutions.

Service Availability You Can Count On
BAIS also understands you can't afford access downtime. That is why we have made ground-breaking commitments to our customers in the form of a Service Level Agreement (SLA). BAIS' SLA provides commitments in three major areas:

  • Network availability: BAIS will maintain a 99.999% network availability to its leased line customers

  • Network performance: The latency (speed) of core sections of BAIS' network backbone will not fall below specified levels

  • Customer notification: BAIS' Network Operations Center continuously monitors all dedicated access services. Should a fault cause the service to become unavailable, BAIS will alert a customer within 30 minutes, during normal business hours

Service Level Agreements are subject to regional and carrier availability. Details on SLA availability and terms are included in BAIS' Leased Line service agreement.

Choose the Level of Service You Need
Every business has different access needs. BAIS offers you a wide variety of choices in different dedicated access services. This provides you an unparalleled range of options, allowing you to choose the level of access, bandwidth, and costs model that best suits your current and future needs.

Tiered Offerings

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Tiered Service
Tiered access service provides the flexibility of deploying a fixed amount of bandwidth with the ability to increase your available bandwidth quickly and easily, with the stability of a fixed monthly fee. If your estimated traffic will be relatively stable throughout a month, a Tiered service is a good choice. BAIS' tiered services allow you to choose the level of bandwidth you need in flexible increments. Your usage limit is capped at the service level you choose, however, you can order additional bandwidth at any time. Your monthly cost is based on the port speed you choose. This type of service provides a fixed monthly bandwidth cost that you can easily plan your budget around.

Burstable Offerings

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Burstable Service
Burstable service allows you to select a bandwidth tier, much like the tiered services above, which provides you with a specific amount of bandwidth for a fixed fee. However, with burstable service, you actually have access to the full bandwidth capacity of your connection should the need arise. At any time should you need more bandwidth than the selected bandwidth tier specifies, you have the ability to "burst" to the maximum bandwidth capacity of your connection, which is 45Mbps for DS3, 155mbps for OC3 and 1Gigps for Ethernet solution.

All BAIS DS3/OC3 services include the following features:

  • Tiered or burstable Internet access

  • Backup SMTP mail spooling

  • 24x7x365 Circuit monitoring and proactive response

  • Preconfigured Customer Premise Equipment

  • Circuit ordering and provisioning--from order to install

  • IP address allocation

  • Primary and/or secondary DNS services

  • Custom domain name registration and administration*

Initial setup fee includes up to two (2) domain transfers or registrations. Additional domain transfers/registrations will be billed according to our current Domain Transfer/Registration fee.

Note:

If sustained monthly usage is higher than the contracted rate (actual average measured bandwidth higher than contracted rate), customer will be automatically upgraded to and billed at the next higher rate corresponding to the actual measured average usage.

Local Service Options May Include:

  • Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • Router

  • CSU/DSU

  • Full provisioning of local-Loop facilities through the chosen carrier network

  • Redundant ISDN, DSL, T1 or DS3 (failover) connections (a secondary back-up connection that provides access service in the event the primary connection should fail)

Terms and Conditions of Service

  1. All High Speed Metro access services require a minimum 1-year term commitment. Service contract automatically renew for successive ninety (90) day terms.

  2. The above pricing does not include related costs associated with telephone company circuit installation, mileage, local-loop fees and associated customer premise equipment as described below:

    • A one-time telco access facility installation fee to connect your site to our nearest POP.

    • A monthly telco local-loop fee associated with the dedicated circuit from your site to our POP. This fee can vary depending on the distance from your location to our our POP and the proximity to and/or availability of fiber facilities.

    • A one-time cost to purchase a CSU/DSU  (e.g., located at your site) required to communicate from your site to our POP. The cost of the CSU/DSU will vary based on the connect speed and capabilities of the type of unit selected.

    • A network access router and associated software and cabling. Access routers vary in price depending on specific needs and related capabilities. Costs for higher quality access routers with associated software and cabling range in price from $3000 to well over $10,000.

Our primary Internet access facility is capable of providing highly scalable and highly available Internet access services with extremely high-quality bandwidth and full redundancy.

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Connectivity
Our dedicated access solutions provide very high-speed and high-bandwidth connectivity to the global Internet network. We maintain rigorously engineered high-availability Network Access Points (NAPs) throughout the Bay Area. Our primary facility currently houses multiple OC48 (2.45Gbps) fiber links to multiple carriers. These OC48 links provide exceptional scalability, reliability, and redundancy. This core connectivity infrastructure enables us to maintain and quickly scale multiple high-speed and redundant fiber links to major Tier 1 Internet backbones, enabling us to deliver the finest Internet bandwidth quality available.

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Bandwidth
Exceptional bandwidth quality has always been a BAIS core strength. A key factor that enables us to deliver such outstanding bandwidth is a core strategy of purchasing only "clear-channel" private Internet connectivity. Unlike many of our competitors who rely heavily on public network access points and congested public and private peering points, BAIS' core strategy ensures that our customers always enjoy only the best quality bandwidth through avoidance of congested public Internet access points and networks.

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Exceptional Diversity
BAIS maintains multiple connections to major Tier 1 Internet backbones like Level 3 and AboveNet.
Our optimal routing of data traffic over the multiplicity of networks that comprise the Internet enables higher transmission speeds, lower instances of data packet loss and greater quality of service.

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Scalability
BAIS facilities are fully equipped with advanced network infrastructure equipment, enabling the traffic and load management required to support your high-bandwidth application needs. Our facilities are also well provisioned with the connectivity and dynamic bandwidth scalability needed to handle traffic spikes and network outage issues. BAIS can also easily and quickly deploy additional connectivity to enable our customers to deploy their online business as rapidly as possible.

j0115834.gif (185 bytes) Availability
BAIS' enterprise dedicated access services provide a non-stop Internet access infrastructure utilizing both redundant UPS subsystems and a fully automated and redundant fail-over to diesel-generator backup power. In addition, our access services are backed by an industry leading SLA.
