and Virus blocking services through a partnership with Postini, an
industry leading provider of email and virus protection for the enterprise.
Postini, is a leading anti-spam technology
provider and recipient of the PC Magazine's "Editor’s Choice
Award." Postini's highly regarded SPAM and Virus blocking services
have now been fully integrated with our standard and high-availability email
services.

For existing or new
customers who have purchased a BAIS Dial-up, ISDN, or Web
hosting service that include at
least one POP email account, one Postini
SPAM and Virus filtering account will be provided upon request at no
additional cost. See pricing and availability information below
for information on adding additional Postini accounts or
services. All Setup fees for Postini services will be waived until
October 31, 2003.

How does Postini work?
- Your incoming e-mail passes through a
meshed group of redundant BayArea.net "pre-Postini"
servers for validation and pre-processing. From these servers the
email is routed to Postini's automated filters, which are designed to detect suspected unsolicited
commercial e-mail (or SPAM and viruses that may threaten your
system or network.
- Any suspicious email is re-directed to
a personalized, web-based, password-protected Message Center
(it does not arrive at an individual user
desktop or server in-box). Think of this as a quarantine area. In your
Message Center you can read the quarantined email online, delete it,
or deliver (forward) it to its original or alternate destination.
- You receive email notifications, with
login instructions, whenever suspicious messages are logged and
isolated on your Postini Message Center site.
- From your personalized Postini Message
Center you can read the email online, delete it, or deliver
(forward) it to your regular "me@bayarea.net" or "me@mydomain.com"
mailbox. From this site you can also setup the preferences for
SPAM and virus handling and sensitivity.
- Postini also lets you "block"
specific senders (email from these senders will always be filtered
and blocked). You can "approve" senders (their email will always be
delivered).
- The BayArea.net implementation of Postini works on a
physical POP account user ID. Any email address or alias routed to this
user ID will be redirected through Postini's filtering.
Postini service is private and secure.
Nobody has access to your e-mail but you. You control the filter
settings. You can check on the filtered messages locked in your Postini
Message Center at any time. Postini can easily be turned off with two
mouse clicks.

Service Eligibility
and Availability:
If you utilize BAIS email services
for your business with an email address of user@bayarea.net or you
utilize BAIS email services under your own personal or company domain
(i.e., user@mydomain.com), you are eligible for Postini Spam and Virus filtering services as an option
to these services. Postini support for companies who operate their own email
server(s) with their own email addresses (i.e., user@mycompany.com)
will be available soon. Please contact sales@bayarea.net
to get more details on availability and pricing.
Individual POP, Telnet,
and FTP accounts are not eligible for a free Postini account. Only
higher level accounts that include a POP email account are eligible for
a free Postini account.
Postini services are available
immediately to new customers purchasing Dial-up, ISDN, or Web hosting
accounts that include at least one email POP account hosted on a BAIS mail
server. We will be deploying Postini support in a phased
approach, one BayArea.net mail server at a time. For example, if your
email is served by server "mail.bayarea.net," you may be
eligible for the service immediately. Customers being served by server
"mail4.bayarea.net," may have to wait a short time for
services to be available on their email server.

- In
order to filter email for your own domain through this
service, your domain:
- Must
be hosted by BAIS; and
- email
for that domain must be received by our email servers.
- Postini
support for customers who operate their own email server(s) and have their own email addresses (i.e.,

available.

to filter and quarantine unsolicited email messages and/or email
messages containing computer viruses there are several limitations,
including but not limited to the filters selected, either by default or
by the Customer, and the virus definitions provided by third-parties. BAIS exercises no control whatsoever over the content of the information
passing through its system. Neither BAIS nor any of its affiliates, its
suppliers, its contractors or their respective employees warrants that
the Services will be uninterrupted or error free; nor does BAIS make any
warranty as to the results from use of the Services.
